The Christmas events in SW11 kick off at the BAC for the Christmas gifts fair on the 16th and 17th of November; make sure you buy your tickets in advance from the box office, to see the 50+ stalls packed full of festive goodies. Wrap up warm and make your way to the official Christmas lights "switch-on" ceremonies: Clapham Junction's lights and tree on St John's Road (next door to Waitrose) will be switched on at 6pm on Friday 26th November and Northcote road's Christmas trees will light up at 5.30pm on the 8th December and Battersea Square at 6pm on 7th December. Make sure you visit St John's Hill (outside Fish Club restaurant) on Wednesday 1st December, to see this "street of 1000 trees" lit up by the Mayor of Wandsworth at 6pm and you can visit Santa in his Grotto at the Secret Library, from 4pm til 7pm. For your last minute Christmas shopping, why not visit Battersea High Street on Sunday 12th December, where a special Christmas market will be open all day, packed full of visiting stall holders and special festive offerings!
